Progression of a Social Network

leave a comment »

A typical progression of a social network – First the geeky types join it (around t = 0), then computer guys (and gals) but not necessarily geeky types  join it (around t = 3m-4m) (read as those who’ve always on free access to Internet and are alpha hunters) – Followed by net savvy types from other professions (around t = 6m – 1y) (some from media are usually early birds here) – This is when people start speaking ‘How this particular social network is the next hottest thing’  and then a lot of jargon around this particular social network develops, typically resulting in addition of few verbs to the English language (around t = 1y – 2y) – and finally everyone and his sister joins it(around t = 2y+)  and eventually spammers infest it.
