Nadir of News Reporting
Recently while I had gone for a dinner with folks from my previous company, They raised a few eyebrows too many when I mentioned that I didnt know about ‘khali’ the latest news sensation on most of the news channels. However, to save myself further embarrasement I replied, oh I vaguely remember seeing some program featuing the eminent guy.. I am really not up-to-date with the latest news happening. My news reading thus far has been limited to only bloomberg and yahoo! finance, admittedly for entertainment alone…
News channels is something I have stayed away from except CNBC TV 18 (which I regularly watch primarily for some good models aka news readers aka.. VJs and entertainment as well) I have written at length about my frustrations with News channels in one of my favourite posts “बॉडी बनाओं बाबा….“. However, it seems news channels are really in the business of creating innumerable jobs, not necessarily for two-legged animals alone. Or is it the other way round? Not just two legged animals are creating jobs for news channel reporters etcetra? Either way .. Here are some of the snippets which I received in a forwarded email… Click on individual links to get a clearer picture…

Two three days back, I was watching CNN-IBN, and Rajdeep Sardesai, of all people was doing Oh-Ho, Ah-Ha after every sentence when he was interview Amar Singh of SP. This Oh-Ho, Ah-Ha was ok once or twice, but when it did not seem like ending, Amar Singh also got fed up and said – “pls stop doing this Ah-Ha and Oh-Ho.”
That was quite some rebuke – live and exclusive on CNN-IBN.
